Dash in the Dark is a high-school cross country race taking place in Oakfield-Alabama, NY in early September.

Typically, cross country races are an individual sport. That is not the case at Dash in the Dark. At “The Dash”, as it’s often called, runners pair in teams of 3 for a relay race.

But that’s not the only non-traditional aspect of this race either. This race happens under the “Friday Night Lights'“, a rare opportunity for these runners.
